Creating Multi-timbral Instruments In Logic (Feat. Kontakt)

Maya Wagner
Submitted by mwagner2@berklee.edu on

Creating multi-timbral Instruments in Logic allows for a specific type of organization within projects. For projects which include full MIDI orchestrations and other software-instrument heavy composition, using multi-timbral instruments allows one external plugin, such as Native Instruments’ Kontakt to run up to 16 separate instrument tracks. In a few cases, this can save on a computer's CPU usage, although newer computing technologies have made this less relevant.

Despite the debate, it is important to know how to create multi-timbral instruments in Logic, especially for film scoring students.
