FOLIO: A New Library System for Berklee!
The Library has switched to a new library services platform, called FOLIO. This an exciting unification of library collections into one simplified and contemporary system. This migration has been made possible in part due to Berklee becoming full members of the Fenway Library Organization (FLO), a consortium of academic and special libraries in Massachusetts.
What is FOLIO?
FOLIO is a web-based library system that supports the core services provided by The Library. It is the library catalog system. The Library at Berklee is moving from our two catalog systems — Evergreen at Berklee College of Music, and KOHA at The Boston Conservatory at Berklee — merging them into the singular platform of FOLIO. This is a major milestone in the merger of the Stan Getz Library and the Albert Alphin Library.
What is FOLIO going to do?
The Library at Berklee is moving from our two catalog systems (known as Evergreen, and KOHA), and merging them into this singular platform known as FOLIO.
When Is FOLIO Coming?
FOLIO was launched in January, 2025. This was in an effort to have it fully deployed for the entire Berklee Community at the beginning of the Spring 2025 semester.
Is there anything I need to do?
We are attempting to make this transition to FOLIO as smooth and as simple as possible for the entire Berklee Community. If you are a faculty, you can expect some communication to you this fall concerning any materials you have on reserve for your classes.
