Item Acquisition, Purchase, and Reserve Requests

Requesting Items

Please submit your request via one of the following forms.

Interlibrary Loan

If our libraries don’t have the item you need, you can request it from another library by filling out this Interlibrary Loan form or emailing libraryill@berklee.edu.

Most items arrive within a week or two, but others may take longer depending on the lending institution.

General Purchase Requests

Berklee community members are encouraged to suggest print and media items to add to the library collection. To do this, please Recommend a Purchase for the Library using our online form or email askalibrarian@berklee.edu. ***Please note that some requests may take longer to process as the Library is currently undertaking a complex year-long project to migrate data to a new cataloging system. Inquiries may be directed to library@berklee.edu

We will consider purchasing item(s) that are not already owned by the library and that support the curricular and educational goals of Berklee College of Music.

Course Reserves

We provide Library access to items that are important to the curriculum:

  • Access to physical reserves is located in the Stan Getz Library, Circulation Desk and in the Albert Alphin Library, Main Circulation Desk.
  • Faculty may request available items to be purchased - either in physical or electronic format - for their course and placed on Reserve.
  • To request that an item be placed on Course Reserves at the Libraries, fill out the Course Reserves Request Form. If you need further information, please contact: Brendan Higgins bhiggins@berklee.edu
