Creative Technology Center Stations

Please note the Creative Technology Center is operating under updated protocols due to COVID 19. In particular, we will not be providing headphones at our workstations, please bring your own headphones. All visits to be scheduled in advance to use workstations, or pickup and drop off equipment.

The Creative Technology Center (CTC) is open to all college and conservatory students, regardless of major or field of study. The CTC provides workstations along with a catalog of hardware available for circulation. Located on the first floor, below the Stan Getz Library, the CTC assists students with technical questions and facilitates collaboration and experimentation.


  • iMac Pro workstations with music and multimedia production software.

All on-campus visits, including using computer workstations, pick-up or drop off equipment, etcetera must be scheduled in advance. 

Only those students enrolled as hybrid status for Spring 2021 may use our facilities or check-out equipment.

Technology training is available to all students, hybrid and remote, as well as faculty, staff and alumni.

Workstations & Computer Labs

Masks must be worn at all times when on-campus and in The Library.

No headphones or headsets to be provided: bring your own headphones or headset.

No laptop power adapters to be provided: bring your own laptop power adapter.

No food or drink is allowed in the facility. You may bring a water bottle and briefly consume water away from your workstation and other patrons.

The CTC has 6 iMac Pro and 4 Laptop workstations with 61 key MIDI controllers. The laptop workstations provide additionally an external monitor and a laptop stand. The laptop monitor supports Thunderbolt 3 Macbooks, charging and providing a second display.

The ITL has 3 PC Desktop computers. We are not providing VR headsets or controllers this semester–please bring your own VR headsets and controllers.

On the second floor in the Library Labs we have 18 iMac workstations with 61 key MIDI controllers.

Workstations to be reserved in two hour blocks. Please note, the two hour block includes 90 minute of work time, and 30 minutes of mandatory air reset time where the facility needs to be vacated. In total, two blocks can be booked per day.

When you arrive at your scheduled time:

  1. Scan your ID at the Library door to gain access.
  2. Workstation check-in is self service:
    1. Scan the QR code at your reserved station, or
    2. Manually access the reservation confirmation link in your email.
      All users MUST check-in.

Please wipe down your workstation touch points with the provided wipes before and after use.

Need help? Please utilize our chat service, available from the desktop of every computer in our lab. Due to social distancing requirements, our goal is to keep all of our support remote.


Equipment Circulation

The CTC has an inventory of equipment available for in-facility use. Commonly used items include audio interfaces for recording electric guitar and bass, analog synths and MIDI control surfaces. All equipment is quarantined upon return for 72 hours before it is circulated again.

You may add a piece of equipment to your workstation reservation in advance of your visit or request upon arrival.

A limited number of specific items may circulate out of the facility. View out of facility items and schedule a pickup time on our booking site. To return any equipment circulated out of the facility, please reserve a dropoff time and place in the indicated bin upon your arrival.

No need to sanitize equipment at check out as it has been quarantined.
