With the recent release of Ableton Live 11, everyone is raving about new devices such as Spectral Resonator and Hybrid Reverb. And yeah, these are pretty awesome, but there are so many amazing devices that have been out for so long that remain amazing! 

One of these Ableton devices is called Drum Buss. It is basically a unique drum processing plugin. There are some really, really cool features included in this little device that literally change the game for mixing drums. 

Sends provide a powerful way to manage effects, save CPU, and create a cohesive mix. Let’s dive into sends, busses, and aux tracks as they present themselves in Logic Pro X!

For Film Scoring students at Berklee using Cubase in their work and major, we purchase the FIlm Scoring Bundle as part of our Major Package Bundle! How exciting! Within this FS (Film Scoring) Major Bundle, we purchased a library of instruments known as Vienna Instruments. The FS Department designed and built specific Expression Maps for us to use for said Vienna Instrument sounds, so today we will be learning how to download those Expression Maps and what they do!

In addition to one-off plugins, some companies offer entire bundles of plugins for free.

There are lots of amazing plugins available in the world, but it seems that most of these can cost anywhere from $20 per plugin to $200. If you’re like me (a broke college student) you can’t afford all this fancy software and try looking for things on a budget. After doing some research, I’ve found a collection of plugins available for free for people to download. While they surely surely aren't the expensive plugins, this collection has proven to be very useful and worth the download (and hey, who doesn’t love free stuff!)

Logic is one of the most stock-plugin-rich DAWs on the market. It has a ton of native plugins and the software can be used to create extremely professional sounding productions with virtually no external processing.
