Join us for an intimate conversation Lewis Capaldi, a singer-songwriter from Scotland and Capitol Records recording artist. His independently released debut track “Bruises” reached the #1 spot on Spotify’s New Music Friday playlist and has amassed over 40 million plays since, making him the fastest ever unsigned artist to reach 25 million plays on Spotify. Lewis was recently selected for the Vevo dscvr program, which highlights emerging artists, and was included on BBC’s Sound Of 2018 list, an indicator of promising new talent in the next year.
On his debut EP Bloom, Scottish newcomer Lewis Capaldi explores the intersection of beauty and pain, love and loss, desire and fear. For the EP-opening “Fade,” Capaldi teamed up with Grammy Award-winning producer Malay (Frank Ocean, Sam Smith, Zayn Malik), matching the piano-driven track’s haunting melodies with hypnotic beats.
Initially Capaldi began by sharing his music online, mostly through YouTube and SoundCloud. As he worked at refining his songcraft, he eventually shifted his sensibilities from a distinctly indie aesthetic to a more melody-minded, pop-infused approach.  Having already sold out his first ever back-to-back headline tours in the U.K., Capaldi is currently on tour with Milky Chance in the U.S. and his upcoming third headlining tour in Europe has also sold out.
