RIP Gerry Goffin

Lyrist Gerry Goffin, who co-wrote more than 50 Top 40 hits including "Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow" and "Savin' All My Love for You," died Thursday, June 19.

Goffin was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1987 and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1990 with his former wife and writing partner Carole King.

Associate Press has an obituary, but more will be emerging, no doubt.

Very little of our collection identifies of Goffin as an author, but it is a measure of how prolific and successful his was that we have 262 items, primarily recordings and score, on which he is credited.
